My favorite things to support is businesses that support unity, positive change, and black owned businesses. They provide the world with a better future and more diversity so a change can be made. This trendy dress, eye catching purse, and photo shoot is inspired by all of these aspects.
Let’s start with this shirt dress which is is designed by a designer named Blakely. Her brand is called Unite and I love her motto of the brand. As soon as I got the dress in the mail her motto spoke out to me. It stated: “With the help of each other, we can create, build, heal, and transform our communities through unification & community empowerment“. I love how her brand promotes unity, and at this time is when we need it the most.
This year America has endured so much from hate crimes, a pandemic, and an upcoming change in the government. We need unity above all to make a positive change in America. We all have to work together to make the United States a better place to live, and after that let’s conquer making the world a better place. This mission is what I pledge to stand by and I wear this dress with pride!
Now let’s get to this creative hand made purse! Your eye instantly draws to the message on the purse. It’s creative, bold, and sends a message. The designer of this handbag is named Sonique. Her black owned business is so unique, fun, and stylish. With her bold statements like “You fake like this Chanel” It’s hard for people not to stare and get attention from the handmade bag!
Sonique inspires her customers and followers to go after their dreams while looking fierce! That’s what I wanted to portray in this photo, I wanted to look fierce while taking a photo that speaks out to the movement that’s going on. I wanted to do it for the culture.

This next mural was painted by some amazing female artists as a collaboration. The meaning of this work of art is aimed at women helping women and women empowering women. It’s so amazing that these women got together to send that message out for the world to see. I think it sends the perfect message about unity among women. What I love the most is the beautiful hues of color painted on the faces, hair, masks, and clothes. When I look at the mural I feel like the colors invites a playful vibe while sending the message of support among women of all types. The mural was painted a year ago but is perfect for what the world is experiencing now.
